Hi, I'm Hannah
I am a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Cochrane, Alberta.
Growing up, I always yearned for spaces to belong, which has guided my desire to cultivate spaces where others can belong as well. As a child, adolescent, and teen I tended not to fit the societal mold that praised extroverted, vivacious leaders and instead found myself drawn to puzzles, band class and book clubs.
I have always been driven to help others; however, my fear of blood made a career such as nursing or anything in the medical field out of the question. Drawn to my early psychology courses in University, I decided to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology, completing an Honours Thesis and a Concentration in the Spanish Language Arts.

I have always been motivated to learn and help women in any capacity. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on breakups (after suffering a painful one myself), worked in a recovery centre for women with eating disorders, addictions, and other mental health challenges, and now find myself with a strong passion for helping mothers and women who find themselves in abusive relationships. Through my own motherhood journey and in my time working in women's mental health, I have seen and experienced the disparities of women’s health and mental health services. My hope is for greater awareness of the challenges facing women and mothers and to be an advocate for empathy and understanding of women in all life’s circumstances
I believe that at the heart of change there is a need for radical acceptance of oneself and all one’s myriad parts. However, I acknowledge that before self-acceptance, a safe space to belong and heal is needed. Thus, my deep hope is that through counselling I can help others to cultivate self-acceptance through being known and seen.
